My kids weren’t the top of their senior class in High School. When we started looking into Universities, Private Colleges, Community Colleges and Technical Institutes it was difficult to decide which way to go when persuing a career. While looking into these we found that Community Colleges seemed to be the most affordable and offer a good varity of courses that would fit my kids with the average GPA of 2.5 to 3.0. We also found the Technical Institutes are a great way to get the education and degree or certificate you need to get into the workforce in less time than the University and Colleges. My children are not the type to sit behind a desk as a career. They love to do things with their hands. The classes at the Community Colleges and Technical Instutes that we were looking at had a lot of lab time which makes the courses even more interesting to them. In my experiance the on the job training or job simulation seems to be a great way to learn a trade.
Next is an example of my oldest son and his hunt for the career for him, and my daughters choice of where to go after High School.
